Take Small Steps for Lasting Behaviour Change
We often think consistency means doing something perfectly every single day.
It doesn’t.
Consistency is simply the ability to return to the thing that matters to you, even after you miss a day, lose motivation, or life gets in the way.
There is a beautiful Sanskrit expression:
शनैः शनैः — śanaiḥ śanaiḥ
It means little by little, gradually.
Whether you want to build a healthier lifestyle, develop a new skill, manage your mind better, or create a new habit, the answer is rarely to do more.
It is to keep returning to a small action that moves you forward.
And when you miss a day, don't turn one missed day into a missed week.
Begin again.
Consistency isn't about never falling off.
It is about shortening the distance between falling off and starting again.
In the video above, I share a simple five-step process to help you build consistency without relying on motivation.
Watch it, choose one thing you want to practise, and start small.
Śanaiḥ śanaiḥ.
Little by little, you become better than before.
